Terms of Service

By using UnsaidX you agree you meet the age requirement in Age & Eligibility and that your messages will be moderated for content that threatens life or safety. We will refuse to deliver any message that contains self-harm or violent threats, in any language we detect.

UnsaidX is a delivery medium, not a relationship. You are responsible for what you write. Recipients are responsible for how they receive it.

We may suspend accounts that repeatedly attempt blocked content, harass others, misstate their age, or abuse the platform.

Who We Are (Operating Entity)

UnsaidX is owned and operated by BESTOFMINE, a sole proprietorship registered in India ("we", "us", "UnsaidX"). BESTOFMINE is the data controller, the contracting party for every account, and the intermediary for the purposes of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

UAE branch. Billing, regional support, and MENA operations may be carried out through our affiliated branch BESTOFMINE Information Technology in the United Arab Emirates. The UAE branch acts as a local operations and billing presence; it does not alter the controller, the governing law, or the dispute-resolution forum set out in Governing Law. Where a user is a UAE resident and local law requires a local point of contact, the UAE branch will accept service of that contact request and route it to the controller.

For any legal, privacy, or grievance matter, contact the addresses in Grievance Officer below. The Indian entity remains the responsible party.

What UnsaidX Is (and Isn't)

UnsaidX is a private, one-to-one anonymous expression and emotional-wellbeing tool. It exists so a person can put words to something they could not say in person — to one specific recipient, or to themselves — and have those words handled with care and then erased.

UnsaidX is not a social media service, a social network, a public-broadcast platform, or user-generated-content publisher. There are no public feeds, no public profiles, no followers, no likes, no shares, no algorithmic discovery, no public posts, no comments, no public messaging surfaces. A letter exists between exactly one sender and one recipient (both anonymous by default) and ceases to exist on read or expiry.

This classification matters for jurisdiction-specific rules that target social media platforms (for example, the UAE's 2025 minimum-age guidance for social media accounts). Those rules are not, by their own terms, framed at private one-to-one messaging or wellbeing tools. We nevertheless apply defensive minimums below.

UnsaidX is not a counselling, therapy, medical, psychiatric, or crisis-response service, and is not a replacement for one. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. See our Safety resources.

Age & Eligibility

UnsaidX is for anyone old enough to write to their own conscience. The law requires us to set a number, so the floor is 13 — but the real bar is being able to hold your own words with awareness, own what you're about to say, and choose not to send if it would hurt. If that's you, you're welcome here.

Minimum age: 13. Anyone aged 13 or older with a working email address may use UnsaidX. We deliberately keep the floor at 13 because the ability to put painful, unsaid things into words — privately, to one person, with the option to never send — is a wellbeing benefit, not a social-media harm, and excluding 13–17-year-olds from that outlet causes more harm than it prevents. UnsaidX has no public surface, no follower dynamics, and no algorithmic feed (see What UnsaidX Is), so the risks the 16+ and 15+ minimums in some jurisdictions were designed to address do not apply here in the same form.

You must truthfully attest your date of birth. At signup you confirm you meet the minimum age. Your date of birth is stored in your account profile and can be reviewed by you at any time. Providing a false age is a material breach of these Terms and grounds for immediate suspension and deletion under Leaving.

If you are under 18: you confirm that a parent or legal guardian is aware that you use UnsaidX and consents to your use of it, to the extent your local law requires such consent (this covers, among others, India's DPDP Act 2023 and the EU GDPR's "child" thresholds). We do not ask for, store, or verify the identity of that parent or guardian — the acknowledgment is yours.

UAE residents: UAE Federal Decree-Law 34/2021 and the 2025 minimum-age announcement for "social media accounts" target social media services. UnsaidX is not a social media service as defined there (no public feed, no public profile, no followers, no broadcast, no UGC publication). As a defensive measure, residents of the UAE who are between 13 and 15 confirm that a parent or guardian consents to their use of UnsaidX.

Enforcement. If we have a reasonable basis to believe an account holder is below the minimum age (for example: the date of birth in their profile, content of moderation flags, or a credible report), we will: (1) notify the account in-app and by email asking them to update or confirm their date of birth; (2) send a second notice 7 days later and restrict sending; (3) send a final notice 7 days after that and suspend the account until the account holder reaches the minimum age or provides reasonable proof of eligibility. While suspended, the account cannot send or receive letters; on reaching the minimum age the account can be reactivated by signing in and re-confirming the date of birth. Existing letter-erasure rules continue to apply during this period.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact security@support.unsaidx.com and we will remove the account.

Acceptance & Binding Agreement

By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using UnsaidX in any form, you enter into a binding legal agreement with UnsaidX and irrevocably accept these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Cookie Policy, our Acceptable Use rules, and every other policy we publish on this site — as they exist today and as we may amend, replace, supplement, or extend them in the future. Continued use of the platform after a change is published is your affirmative acceptance of the change. If you do not agree with a current or future version, your sole and exclusive remedy is to stop using UnsaidX and delete your account.

You confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter this agreement in your jurisdiction, that you are not barred from receiving services under applicable law, and that you will comply with all laws applicable to your own conduct on the platform. You waive any defense based on lack of signature, click-wrap formality, or unfamiliarity with the text — you had the opportunity to read it and chose to proceed.

These Terms, together with any policy referenced from them, constitute the entire agreement between you and UnsaidX and supersede any prior understanding, representation, or communication. No oral statement, support reply, marketing copy, or third-party claim modifies these Terms. Headings are for convenience only and do not limit scope. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder remains in full force and the unenforceable provision is reformed to the minimum extent necessary.

Acceptable Use & Prohibited Conduct

UnsaidX is a private, invite-only medium for personal expression. You agree you will not, directly or indirectly, and will not assist or permit any third party to:

  • use the platform to threaten, harass, defame, dox, extort, stalk, impersonate, or defraud any person;
  • send content that promotes self-harm, violence, terrorism, child sexual abuse material, hate, or illegal activity;
  • attempt to identify, deanonymize, or contact a recipient outside the platform without their consent;
  • scrape, crawl, mirror, reverse-engineer, decompile, or probe the platform, its APIs, infrastructure, or models;
  • bypass moderation, rate limits, age gates, retention windows, payment, or any technical protection;
  • resell, white-label, or commercially exploit the service without a written agreement;
  • upload malware, run automated abuse, or interfere with other users' enjoyment of the service; or
  • use the service in any way that could expose UnsaidX to regulatory, criminal, civil, reputational, or financial risk.

We may, at our sole discretion and without notice, moderate, throttle, suspend, terminate, or permanently ban any account — and refuse service to any person — for any reason or no reason, including suspected violation of these Terms. We owe no explanation, no appeal, and no refund of unused balances forfeited under Section 8 (Billing) where termination follows a breach. Termination does not release you from obligations accrued before termination, including indemnity and liability limits, which survive.

If This Isn't For You — Please Leave

UnsaidX is built for people who want to use it as intended: quietly, briefly, and with care. If the platform doesn't suit you, if you disagree with these Terms, if you find the experience uncomfortable, or if you simply prefer not to be here — you can delete your account at any time from Account → Settings, no questions asked. We do not chase, we do not retain, and we do not want users who are not benefitting from the platform. Choosing to leave is the correct and welcomed remedy for any disagreement with how UnsaidX operates.

Nothing in this section limits your rights as a consumer under the mandatory law of your jurisdiction, your right to escalate an unresolved dispute through the Disputes section below, or your right to contact a regulator. We simply prefer to part ways quietly when the platform isn't a fit.

No Warranty

UnsaidX is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", with all faults, and without warranty of any kind, express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. To the maximum extent permitted by law, UnsaidX, its owners, operators, contractors, and affiliates disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, reliability, uninterrupted availability, security, freedom from bugs or loss, delivery of any specific letter, recipient behavior, and the suitability or therapeutic value of any content generated by the Companion or any user. No advice or information, whether oral or written, creates any warranty not expressly stated in these Terms.

UnsaidX is not a counselor, therapist, crisis service, emergency service, or licensed professional of any kind. Nothing on the platform constitutes medical, psychological, legal, financial, or professional advice. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will UnsaidX or any of its owners, directors, employees, contractors, licensors, payment processors, hosting providers, or affiliates be liable to you or any third party for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, reputation, emotional distress, or substitute service — arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the platform; the conduct of any other user; the content of any letter, message, or Companion reply; moderation decisions; account suspension or deletion; unauthorized access; delivery delay or failure; or any other matter relating to UnsaidX, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or any other legal theory, and whether or not UnsaidX has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you actually paid UnsaidX in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD $50. Multiple claims do not enlarge this cap. This limitation is an essential basis of our agreement; without it, we would not offer the service.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless UnsaidX and its owners, directors, employees, contractors, licensors, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, demands, investigations, actions, proceedings, losses, damages, fines, penalties, judgments, settlements, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to: (i) your use or misuse of the platform; (ii) your content, letters, or any message you cause to be sent; (iii) your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right; (iv) any dispute between you and another user or any recipient of your letter; and (v) any act or omission by you that — knowingly, unknowingly, purposely, directly or indirectly — exposes UnsaidX to legal, regulatory, reputational, or financial harm. We reserve the right, at your expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter for which you owe indemnity, and you agree to cooperate fully with our defense. You shall not settle any claim without our prior written consent.

Disputes, Arbitration & Class-Action Waiver

You and UnsaidX agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by emailing legal@support.unsaidx.com with a written description of the claim and waiting at least sixty (60) days for resolution before commencing any formal proceeding.

Binding individual arbitration. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the platform that is not resolved informally shall be resolved by final and binding arbitration on an individual basis, and not in any class, consolidated, or representative proceeding. The arbitration shall be conducted under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 of India, seated in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, in English, before a sole arbitrator appointed by mutual agreement (or, failing that, in accordance with the Act). The award shall be final and binding, and judgment on it may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction — including, where applicable, recognition and enforcement under the New York Convention 1958 in the UAE and other contracting states. This clause does not prevent consumers in jurisdictions that prohibit pre-dispute arbitration of consumer claims from bringing such claims in the small-claims or consumer court available to them.

Class-action waiver. You waive any right to bring or participate in a class, collective, representative, mass, or consolidated action against UnsaidX. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims or preside over any form of representative proceeding.

Time bar. Any claim against UnsaidX must be filed within one (1) year after the cause of action arose; otherwise it is permanently barred.

Governing Law, Venue & No Foreign Liability

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them, the service, or your account are governed by the laws of the Republic of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules and excluding the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Subject to the arbitration clause above, the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka, India have exclusive jurisdiction, and you irrevocably consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there and waive any objection of inconvenient forum.

UnsaidX operates as an intermediary within the meaning of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, and relies on the safe-harbor available to intermediaries thereunder.

You access UnsaidX on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with the laws of your own jurisdiction. To the maximum extent permitted by law, UnsaidX does not submit to the jurisdiction of any foreign court or regulator solely because the service is accessible from that territory, and we disclaim any obligation imposed by any foreign law that conflicts with these Terms. If a particular jurisdiction prohibits or restricts the service, your sole remedy is to stop using UnsaidX and delete your account.

No waiver by us of any term is a waiver of any other or subsequent breach. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of that right. These Terms are personal to you; you may not assign them. We may assign them freely. The English version of these Terms controls in any conflict with a translation.

Billing & Refunds

Letters are free. The Companion is pay-as-you-go: one free message every 24 hours, then charges are billed per message from your wallet balance. See pricing for current top-up amounts.

Top-up expiry. Each wallet top-up is valid for 12 months from the purchase date. Any unconsumed portion is removed from your wallet on expiry. We disclose this both at checkout and in your wallet.

Refunds. Unused wallet balance from a top-up is refundable within 30 days of purchase — email support@support.unsaidx.com. Wallet credit, once consumed by Companion messages, is non-refundable because the underlying compute has already been delivered.

Refunds & disputes are honored automatically. If a charge is refunded or a chargeback succeeds, the matching wallet credit is automatically debited from your balance.

Privacy Policy

Letters are end-to-end ephemeral. Once a recipient reads a letter, the content is purged from our servers. We do not keep copies, backups, or analytics of letter bodies.

We store: your handle, hashed identifiers needed to route letters, your invite graph, and your approximate location (city/region) so we can serve relevant local features. Location is collected with your consent; if you decline, we infer city-level location from your IP address only.

We never sell your data. We never read your letters. We do not tie advertising to letter content.

When a letter is gone, it's gone

UnsaidX is built around secret letters. When a letter is read, expires, recalled inside the 60-second undo window, or you remove it from your Sent folder, the letter body is erased from every side — sender's device, recipient's device, and our servers — within seconds of the erasure trigger. There is no copy, no backup, no archive, no content hash, no preview of the first characters. Standard infrastructure behaviour (e.g. brief write-ahead-log flushes or CDN cache expiry) is bounded in minutes, not days, and never makes a body re-readable from any UnsaidX surface. We cannot retrieve it. Nobody can. It is gone.

Read-once letters are purged at the exact moment of reading. "Kept" letters are auto-purged at the 24-hour deadline you chose on first hold (the deadline is set once and cannot be extended). Unread letters wait indefinitely until the recipient opens them — we will not delete an unread letter on a timer. A recalled letter (inside the 60-second undo window) is hard-deleted before it was ever delivered — the recipient never knew it existed.

What stays: anonymized performance metadata

So you can see your own patterns (your top expressions, your sending rhythm, your average response time) and so we can run the service responsibly, we retain a minimal anonymized row per letter. Each row contains:

  • which role you played (sender or recipient)
  • the mode and expression used (e.g. Tenderness · gratitude)
  • your retention choice (read-once vs kept for N hours)
  • the timestamps: sent, delivered, read
  • a one-way hash of the conversation pair so we can group letters by relationship without ever storing the other person's identity in plaintext. The salt that produces this hash never leaves our servers.

These rows do not contain the letter body, the recipient's user id, the recipient's email, the letter id, or any field that could reconstruct what was written or to whom. Removing a letter from your Sent folder tidies your own view; the body itself is already governed by retention. The anonymized row is what lets your patterns page keep working — it is performance metadata, not content.

Retention. Anonymized activity rows are kept for up to 24 months on a rolling basis, then deleted automatically. The lawful basis is legitimate interest (product analytics, service operation, abuse prevention). When you delete your account, your activity rows are deleted with it.

Exception — reported letters. If a letter is reported for safety reasons, it is preserved as evidence under a separate legal basis (safety, terms enforcement) and is reviewed by our moderation team. This is the only path under which a letter body persists past its retention window.

Your data rights. You can request access, correction, deletion, or export of your personal data at any time. Email privacy@support.unsaidx.com for data subject requests, or dpo@support.unsaidx.com to reach our Data Protection contact. For legal notices and DMCA, write to legal@support.unsaidx.com. Security vulnerability reports go to security@support.unsaidx.com (see also our security.txt).

Cookie Policy

Strictly-necessary storage. We use a small number of strictly-necessary cookies and local-storage entries that the service cannot operate without: your session, your age-gate confirmation, your cookie-consent choice, and your interface preferences. These are set without consent because they are essential.

Analytics & performance (consent-based). If you accept on the cookie banner, we load Google Tag Manager and use it to collect aggregated Core Web Vitals and basic anonymised usage signals (page views, performance timings, error rates) so we can keep the site fast and accessible. We operate Google Consent Mode v2: if you decline or have not yet chosen, no analytics or advertising cookies are set and no identifiers are sent. You can change or withdraw consent at any time from the cookie banner or from Account → Settings.

No behavioural advertising and no third-party trackers on letter or Companion content. We do not run advertising on UnsaidX today. We will not introduce behavioural advertising tied to your account or your letters. If we ever introduce contextual, non-behavioural advertising elsewhere on the service, it will be clearly labelled and disclosed in this policy before it ships.

Grievance Officer & Contact (IT Rules 2021)
