Who can I send a letter to?

Anyone with an UnsaidX account. Enter their @handle or the email they signed up with. If they're not on UnsaidX yet, you can invite them from your account.

Brevity is the point. The hardest truths fit in one breath. The limit forces honesty over performance — and makes letters easier to receive.

Why was my letter blocked?

We block any letter that contains self-harm, violent threats, or sexual content involving minors. We will never let you send something life-threatening. Try saying the feeling underneath instead.

Can I get my letter back after sending?

No. Once sealed, a letter belongs to the recipient. After they read it, it is gone forever — even from us.

What does the timer do?

You suggest how long the letter stays on screen (5–60 seconds, or 'once'). The recipient has the final say — they can shorten it, but not extend it.

Will I know who sent me a letter?

No. Recipients never see the sender's handle, email, or any identifier. The sender field is sealed at the server level — even our staff cannot match a letter to a sender without a court order tied to a safety report.

Can I reply?

Yes — sealed reply. You can send one anonymous reply back. We route it without revealing either side's identity, even to each other.

What does 'keep for 24 hours' mean?

After reading, you can choose to let the letter dissolve immediately, or hold an encrypted copy for 24 hours so you can re-open or report it. After 24 hours it auto-purges.

Why did the letter disappear so fast?

By design. One read, then gone. If you missed it, you can't bring it back — but the sender knows you opened it.

What if someone uses UnsaidX to hurt me?

Tap the report button while reading (or within the 24-hour hold window). Reported letters are preserved as evidence, the sender is suspended pending review, and we audit the invite chain that brought them in.

What happens to the sender of an abusive letter?

Accepted Answer

Account suspended, message preserved for review, and the person who invited them is notified. Severe cases (threats, CSAM, stalking) are escalated to law enforcement with a preservation order.

How do you keep me anonymous?

Sender identity is decoupled from message content in our database and never returned through any client API. Even with full database access, you cannot read a message and know who sent it without a verified safety report.

What data do you actually store?

Account info (email, handle), encrypted message bodies until first read, and minimal audit logs for safety. After a letter is read (and any 24h hold expires), the body is permanently deleted — not soft-deleted.

How do I delete my account?

Account → Settings → Delete account. This purges your profile, contacts, and any unread letters addressed to you. Sent letters that already dissolved are already gone.

Why is UnsaidX invite-only?

Anonymous platforms turn into weapons when they let anyone in. Every member is vouched for by someone already inside — so the cost of misbehaving is real.

How do I get more invites?

Start as Newcomer (3 invites). The moment one of your invites is accepted you become a Connector (10 invites). Star tier (25 invites) is hand-picked by the team for consistent, kind activity.

I'm on the waitlist — how long until I get in?

We approve in small waves so the community stays safe. Most people get in within 2–3 weeks. You'll get an email the moment a seat opens.
